Please contact your nearest emergency room for immediate help. The first point of contact into the public mental health support system is your family doctor. They can get a mom started on anti-depressants or other relevant medication before referring to psychology and/or psychiatry. Often the need for medication is short lived in new moms and can be the lift they need. Adults with mental health concerns can also self-refer to the START Clinic.
